Legal experts generally agree that the scandalized Supreme Court's gift ruling to Donald Trump on presidential immunity is not likely to help him escape his New York criminal conviction on the basis of trying to claim everything he did was an "official act," but a less noticed line in the ruling could give Trump's lawyers another opportunity.
