Recent reports show an alarming surge in extremist infiltration within police and military ranks. National security experts warn that these elements could become a powder keg, particularly if faced with a contested election or a second Trump term. One such report out of Florida found that Ku Klux Klan members were being actively recruited to join the local police force. Despite the rising threat of domestic rightwing extremism, Project 2025 appears poised to protect these groups by shielding them from government scrutiny and downplaying their threat as "manufactured." Former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade cautions, “If the FBI shrugs its shoulders to these things, or enables these things, we’re going to see more of it – and it’s a danger to public safety and democracy.”
